GOT Polish Challenge: Skittle

Hello my fellow polish lovers
I'm sticking with pastels again today, just can't get enough of 'em right now, especially with all this sunshine we've been bathed in this week! This is a look I've never done before, both the naked moons and the lace were things on my to-do list, and I combined them here. Easily done within the Golden Oldie rules using my Barry M pastels which have been with me since they first came out lol; they've even been replaced a couple of times over!

I don't have any half moony stickers so I started out by drawing a rough guide lightly in the white nail art pen. I then used three coats of each pastel colour (bar the blue which took four coats) within the guidelines and left to dry thoroughly. I then took the white nail art pen again and drew the half moons and lace loops/dots, I drew over three times to make it clear and finished with topcoat.

Pretty pleased with this mani given the freehand nature of it and my lil nubby nails. Can't go wrong with these colours though right? I may well use the technique of drawing out a design lightly in the white pen in future, was pretty handy! Can't believe I haven't really done that before, I would when drawing in pencils or something lol!?

Barry M - Blue Moon, Strawberry Icecream, Lemon Icecream, Berry Icecream, Mint Green, Color Club - Topcoat, Barry M - White Nail Art Pen

My first dip into the Fingerfood Nails Theme Buffet is coming up tomorrow!

  2. I love these! I love lace-print at the moment, and pastels....and negative space is something I really want to try. And yeah- I find drawing 'templates' with the Barry M pens really helps - I did it when I did my mosaic manicure and it was really useful! Xx
