31 Day Challenge: New Technique To You

Thursday, 17 January 2013

For me there is only really 2 left to do on my 'never tried list'... Water Marble which I have tried twice, failed at and avoided lol; and then Sugar Spun which I was a little scared of haha. I was a bit pushed for time, so as much as I wanted to do the former of the two, I went with the latter. Started with a basecoat and then one thick coat of the blue. I then placed a large blob of the purple on my glass dish; I blew on it whilst mixing around with the pointed end of a cuticle stick until it became tacky. I then lifted strings of the tacky polish with the stick and pulled over the surface of the nail time and again until the desired effect was reached. I cleaned up and photographed that look, very happy. I then wanted more!!! So decided to add a shocking pink and repeated the whole process! Now super, super happy :) 2 for the price of 1 folks! Lol!

  1. I can't believe this is the first time you've done this - it's so amazing! I love the color combo. The pink at the end definitely added something! :)

  6. It looks great! So I guess you were able to topcoat and wear this out just fine? I've always been worried about it because it looks nice but I feel like topcoat would smudge it and it would take FOREVER to dry!

    1. Thanks! No topcoat! It ruins the texture and the design holds up to a beating really well as is. By the time you finish one nail, the last one is dry! Because the polish is almost dry when you apply it (really tacky) and it's applied in such thin strands, it dries rock hard in minutes :D Have a go!!
